The ordering Process:

I did a ton of research and found several places who sell Bench Dog products.  The first was Rockler and the second was ToolKing.  Both sites offered similar price, but I had a coupon for Rockler so I chose to go with them.

First thing you will need to determine if you wan to purchase the router plate.  I would definitely recommend purchasing the router plate for your specific router.  It’ a solid piece of aluminum that is pre drilled for your router.  It has a very substantial feel to it and will outlast any phenolic insert.  Rockler makes it very easy get the correct router plate by grouping routers into 4 categories as well as blank that you drill your own holes.

Installation:

I received my shipment from Rockler today (It only took two days).  I opened up the ProMax Router table that was very neatly packaged by Bench Dog.

You will need two people to install the Router table extension as it is very hefty, maybe 50 pounds.  Using the high strength bolts provided by Bench Dog, you attach the extension to your table saw using  4 or 5 bolts depending on your saw.

You will now need to true up the extension to your saw (this is where the second person comes in).   Grab either a carpenter square, level, flat edge and make minor adjustments until you get it nice and flat.  Make sure to secure all the bolts nice and snug.

Now you will want to attach your Router to the router plate.  I use a Porter Cable model 895, I’ll give more details on why a chose this router at a later date.

Using the provided screw levelers place the router plate in the opening of the ProMax router table and start making tiny adjustments until you get everything just so.  If you’re picky like me this can take a few minutes.
